Brigadeiro is a popular Brazilian delicacy, created in the mid-20th century in honor of Brazilian military leader Brigadier Eduardo Gomes. This dessert looks impressive and festive, and consists of just four ingredients—it's perfect for making at home! These dense balls of condensed milk, cocoa, and butter are rolled in chocolate sprinkles and served like candy. To make it easier, serve the brigadeiro with spoons rather than balls.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1 can (400 g) of condensed milk with sugar
  • 3 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup sprinkles

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Combine the condensed milk, cocoa powder, and butter in a small saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened, 10-15 minutes. Let cool to room temperature.
  2. Form 12 2.5 cm balls and roll them in the sprinkles. Alternatively, scoop the mixture with a spoon (leave it in the spoon) and dip the tops into the sprinkles until they stick.
