Complexity: easily
Quantity: 1 tbsp.

The basic ingredients of the simplest classic vinaigrette dressing are olive oil and vinegar, added in a 3:1 ratio. You can use any vinegar you like: white or red wine vinegar, or sherry vinegar. For flavor, add a little mustard and garlic, as well as your favorite herbs, dried or fresh. Make a large batch of this basic vinaigrette dressing for several uses. Store it tightly in the refrigerator and add it to your favorite dishes. Vinaigrette dressing pairs well not only with vegetable salads but also with grilled chicken or fish, for example.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Place a medium bowl on a folded kitchen towel (this will help keep it in place while whisking). Whisk together the vinegar, mustard, garlic, 1 1/4 teaspoons of salt, and a pinch of freshly ground black pepper. Slowly pour in the olive oil, whisking constantly, until well combined. Use the dressing immediately or store in a tightly sealed container for up to 3 days.
