Orange-flavored almond cookies - a detailed recipe.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 3 cups blanched almonds
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp orange blossom water
  • 1/4 cup orange juice, plus extra for shaping

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. In a food processor, pulse the almonds until finely ground. Add 2.5 cups of sugar. Place the almond mixture in a small saucepan and place over medium-high heat. Add the liquid ingredients and cook until the sugar dissolves. Let cool.
  2. Once the mixture has cooled, shape the dough into 4-cm-high pears using tablespoonfuls, moistening your fingers with the juice. Roll each cookie in powdered or granulated sugar. Wrap each in cellophane and place in a lidded container. Let it sit for at least 3 days before serving.
