Genever, also known as "juniper vodka," is the national spirit of Holland. Its name derives from the Dutch word "jeneverbes," meaning "juniper." It is believed that its recipe was the basis for the creation of English gin. Unlike gin, however, jenever is a spirit with a protected geographical indication. In this cocktail, it is accompanied, imparting sweet and delicate notes, by French violet liqueur and orange liqueur.
