Time: 15 min.

Quantity: 2 and 1/3 cups (600 ml)

American buttercream is one of the easiest to make. It consists of two main ingredients: butter and powdered sugar. To ensure a lump-free buttercream, it's best to sift the powdered sugar. Beat everything with a mixer. For flavor, add vanilla extract. If the buttercream is too strong, you can thin it with a little milk. If it's too soft, add a little powdered sugar. Either way, it's bound to turn out well. This buttercream is ideal for decorating cakes or cupcakes. It's easy to apply and pipe from a pastry bag and holds its shape perfectly.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine the butter, powdered sugar, and salt (or in a large bowl if using a hand mixer). Beat on low speed until combined.
  2. Add vanilla, increase speed to medium-high, and mix until smooth. If desired, you can make the consistency thinner by adding milk. Use the cream immediately or store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Before using, bring to room temperature and mix at medium-high speed until smooth..
