Chocolate buttercream lets you bring your cake and cupcake creations to life. It's perfect for filling, icing, and decorating. No matter what tip you use, your decorations will hold their shape perfectly. It's made with butter, powdered sugar, a touch of vanilla, cocoa powder for a delicious color and chocolate flavor, and milk to make it soft and pliable. One of the benefits of buttercream is that it can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 6 tbsp (90 g) butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • A pinch of fine salt
  • 4 cups powdered sugar (450g package)
  • 6 tablespoons of milk

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine the butter and cocoa powder (or in a large bowl if using a hand mixer). Beat on low speed until combined. Add the vanilla and salt. Continue mixing on low speed, adding the powdered sugar 1 cup at a time, alternating with the milk.
  2. Increase mixer speed to medium-high and mix everything until smooth. Use the cream immediately or store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Before using, bring to room temperature and mix at medium-high speed until smooth..
