Despite its name, this classic New York drink contains neither eggs nor cream. It's made solely with whole milk, chocolate syrup, and chilled, sparkling water. The syrup is mixed into the milk, then vigorously whisked with carbonated water, creating a thick foam on the surface, similar to the foam from a beaten egg. According to one version of the drink's name, it's this foam that gave it its nickname, "egg slush." The cocktail is delicious, and children will especially love it.
