If you love a classic, tart Whiskey Sour with a fluffy head, try this more piquant version with a splash of hot sauce (Tabasco works well). Serve garnished with an orange wheel and half a fresh chili pepper, which adds a spicy kick.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 60 ml bourbon
  • 30 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 15 ml simple syrup or agave syrup
  • 1 teaspoon egg white
  • Crushed ice
  • 1/4 tsp hot sauce
  • Orange wedge and halved serrano pepper (optional)

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Pour the bourbon, lemon juice, syrup, and egg white into a cocktail shaker and shake well to emulsify the egg white. Add crushed ice and hot sauce, and continue shaking to chill.
  2. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with an orange wedge and half a pepper.
