The traditional Rob Roy cocktail is made with sweet vermouth. This lighter version replaces it with St. Germain elderflower liqueur, but retains the whiskey and adds a fresh sprig of rosemary for a spicy, herbal note. Serve garnished with rosemary.

Ingredients:

  • 60 ml. single malt whiskey
  • 30 ml elderflower liqueur, such as St-Germain
  • 2 drops of bitters
  • 1 small sprig of rosemary, broken in half
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

    Step 1
  • Combine whiskey, liqueur, bitters and rosemary in a shaker filled with ice.
  • Step 2
  • Cover the shaker and shake well to combine and chill the ingredients. Strain into a chilled martini glass.
