Sandwiches A sandwich is a type of cold appetizer. Almost any ingredients on hand can be used to make it.
The popularity of sandwiches around the world is growing every day, and this is no coincidence: you don't have to be a top-notch chef to prepare them; they don't require much time or physical effort to prepare, and, of course, they're incredibly satisfying, which is another undeniable advantage.
However, despite all the benefits of this dish, overindulging in sandwiches, replacing everything else with them, including first and second courses, is not recommended, as such dry eating can lead to incredible weight gain and damage your digestive system. Sandwiches are good when there's no way to prepare a more substantial meal, for example, on hikes, picnics, on the road, and, of course, for breakfast.
For preparing sandwiches Foods must be cut correctly. According to the rules, cooked sausages are sliced straight, while smoked sausages are sliced diagonally. If a sandwich is made with cheese, the cheese must be peeled of its waxy layer before slicing. Boiled eggs are also often used in sandwiches. They are usually cut into rounds or wedges, and to simplify this process, egg slicers are used. When making sandwiches with sprats, sardines, or sprats, the fish must be decapitated, tailed, and entrails removed (if no one has already done so). Meat and fish products are usually sliced diagonally across the grain. The base of any sandwich—the bread—should be cut into thin slices, approximately 1 cm thick.
Now about types of sandwichesFirstly, sandwiches can be hot or cold depending on the method of preparation.
Cold sandwiches - these are the most common ones, which are prepared in the following way: something tasty is placed or spread on bread (if it is butter or pate).
And here it is hot They need to be baked for a few minutes or pan-fried before they're ready to eat. Secondly, there are open-faced and closed-faced sandwiches.
Open - This is the same notorious sandwich with cheese or sausage, but closed on both sides with slices of bread - hence its name.
Thirdly, sandwiches are divided into sandwiches, tartines, canapes and toasts.
Sandwich - this is a sliced bun into which products are placed, as a rule, their main component is meat, and then cheese, herbs, vegetables, spices, and so on.
Tartinka A tartlet is a tiny savory basket filled with a favorite filling, or a pre-fried bread roll with a side dish. The side dish can be salad, minced meat or fish, or even caviar.
Canapes – a sandwich on a skewer. The skewer holds whatever you want to put on the piece of bread, and it looks very unique.
Toasts – a slice of bread toasted on both sides, served with a side dish, just like a tartine. Served hot, with a crispy crust, these toasts are distinguished by their excellent flavor.
