American Cuisine Recipes


American cuisine - homeland fast food. Cocktails, fast food, semi-finished products, popcorn, hot dogs, hamburgersFried chicken, ketchup—Americans consume all of these daily, despite their obsession with healthy eating. Yet, beyond fast food, there are culinary traditions of the American people.

Fried chicken and turkey are considered the national symbols of America. Different parts of the country prepare them differently. Breading is a key component of poultry preparation. Wheat flour is typically used for breading. Wholemeal or rye flour can be substituted. Breading is generously flavored with ground nuts, herbs, and spices. Ground nuts alone can also be used as breading.

The queen of America's fields is corn. It reaches local tables in the form of cornflakes and popcorn. Dishes made with beans, pumpkin, and rice are also popular.

Americans welcome guests with vegetable salads, served with cold water before the main course. The main course is usually a meat dish. If the gathering is held outdoors, meat, fish, and barbecued vegetables are served.

Coca-Cola is considered the iconic drink of American cuisine. The same cannot be said for tea and coffee. Coffee is rarely brewed in America; instant coffee powder is usually used. Wine is also unpopular among Americans. Although this country produces good quality wine from grapes, beer and whiskey occupy a special place among alcoholic beverages.

Despite Americans' penchant for high-calorie foods, they make desserts primarily from low-calorie ingredients. Pies, especially apple pies, are famous throughout America. Pumpkin pie is usually baked for Thanksgiving or Halloween. Apple pie is popular worldwide. Americans also love pancakes and waffles with maple syrup.
