Classic Texas Tea

How to Make Classic Texas Tea
Kitchen:American,
Time: 5 min.
Complexity: easily
Quantity: 1 cocktail

Don't let the name of this drink fool you. While it may look like iced tea in a glass, Texas Tea is actually more powerful than the famous Long Island Tea. This drink has the same ingredients (meaning almost all the spirits from the bar) and the added bonus of whiskey. Mix everything with a sour mix of lemon juice and simple syrup, add a splash of cola to give the cocktail a visual justification for its name, and get ready for a truly fun party!

Ingredients:

Sour mix
  • 30 ml lemon juice
  • 15 ml simple sugar syrup, see recipe below

Classic Texas Tea
  • 15 ml of vodka
  • 7 ml of gin
  • 7 ml of rum
  • 15 ml tequila
  • 15 ml of whiskey
  • 15 ml. triple sec
  • A little cola

Simple sugar syrup
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of water
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.

Fill a Collins glass with ice. Pour in vodka, gin, rum, tequila, whiskey, triple sec, and 30 ml of sour mix. Top up with cola.
  • Step 3
  • Stir once with a bar spoon and serve. No need to garnish the glass.

    Simple sugar syrup:
