The Mai Tai, with its sweet flavor and rich finish, is one of the most distinctive tropical cocktails, always uplifting not only with its stunning taste but also its exotic appearance. Garnish with a maraschino cherry, a slice of pineapple, and edible flowers for a summery, tropical touch.

Recipe:

Combine 60 ml of golden rum, 20 ml of lime juice, 15 ml of orange Curaçao, and 7 ml each of orgeat (almond syrup) and simple syrup in a shaker with ice; shake well. Strain into a short glass filled with ice. Garnish with a pineapple wedge, a maraschino cherry, and an edible flower.

Note

To make simple sugar syrup, heat equal parts granulated sugar and water in a saucepan until the sugar is completely dissolved; let cool. Demerara sugar or honey can be used in place of regular granulated sugar.
