The Sidecar is a classic cocktail made with one part lemon juice, one part orange liqueur, and two parts cognac. It's considered a sour, but for a more balanced taste, it's typically served in a glass rimmed with sugar.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1 lemon, cut in half
  • Sugar for decorating glasses
  • Ice
  • 90 ml of cognac
  • 45 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 45 ml orange liqueur

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Wet the rims of the glasses with a lemon slice. Sprinkle a small amount of sugar on a shallow plate and dip the tops of the glasses into it. Fill a shaker halfway with ice. Add cognac, lemon juice, and orange liqueur. Shake for 10 seconds. Strain into decorated glasses and enjoy!
