Time: 10 min.
Complexity: easily
Quantity: 1 cocktail

This classic cocktail was invented in the 1920s in the United States. The drink's effect was said to be similar to being fired from a French 75mm cannon, hence the name. The French 75 was so popular in its day that it can be seen in many films, including Casablanca (1942) and the television series Mr. Selfridge (2016). Traditionally, the cocktail includes gin, lemon juice, simple syrup (which can be substituted with powdered sugar), and champagne. If desired, replace the latter with any white sparkling wine and enjoy.
