A pinch of ground cinnamon and a splash of apple liqueur will transform your classic Old Fashioned cocktail into autumn mode, when you want to enjoy the cozy combination of fruit and warming spices. Swap the traditional whiskey for Calvados and serve with a cocktail cherry. Simple and delicious!



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


Cocktail

  • 50 ml apple brandy (calvados)
  • 30 ml apple liqueur, such as Berentzen
  • 15 ml of Averna liqueur
  • 3 drops of Angostura
  • A pinch of sugar with cinnamon, see recipe below
  • Cherries in liqueur, for decoration
  • Ice

Sugar with cinnamon

  • 1/4 cup demerara sugar or brown sugar
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Combine apple brandy, apple liqueur, Averna liqueur, Angostura, and cinnamon sugar in a cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Shake in a shaker until completely chilled. Strain into a glass with ice. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.

    Sugar with cinnamon:
    Yield: 1/4 cup

    In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon.
