Alcoholic cocktail "Margarita" with orange juice

How to Make a Margarita with Orange Juice
Time: 5 min.
Complexity: easily
Quantity: 1 cocktail

The main ingredients of the popular Margarita cocktail are tequila, lime juice, and orange liqueur. But if you don't have a bottle of Cointreau or Triple Sec on hand, this recipe will help you get around that. What's more, the cocktail will be more refreshing, rich in fruit juices with a perfect tart-sweet flavor, and not overwhelmed by the alcohol. Shake tequila and lime and orange juice, crushed in nectar or agave syrup, in a shaker. Strain the cocktail into a salt-rimmed glass and enjoy your favorite drink in a new way.

Ingredients:

  • 60 ml tequila
  • 1 tbsp coarse salt
  • 4 limes
  • Half a small orange
  • 2 tbsp. l. agave nectar
  • 3/4 cup ice cubes, 3 – 4 pcs.

We recommend

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Pour 15 ml of tequila into a saucer. Add salt to another saucer. Dip a martini glass or other wide glass rimwise into the tequila. Remove and hold it upside down for 10 seconds to allow the tequila to evaporate slightly. Then dip it in salt to create a rim.
  • Step 2
  • Halve two limes. Cut a thin wedge from one for garnish. Juice the limes into the bottom glass of a Boston shaker. Quarter the remaining limes and orange and drop them into the shaker. Add the agave nectar and mash for 2 minutes to release the juice. Strain the juice into the top glass of the shaker, discarding the remaining fruit.
  • Step 3
  • Pour the juice back into the bottom glass, add 45 ml of tequila and any remaining tequila from the saucer. Then fill the shaker with ice, cover, and shake for 30 seconds. Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass, garnish with a lime wedge, and serve immediately.
