Classic marinara sauce - detailed recipe.
The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:
- Three jars (430 g each) canned pureed tomatoes
- 3 - 4 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup white wine (or chicken broth)
- Salt and ground pepper
- A pinch of sugar
- Olive oil
- Fresh parsley leaves
- Fresh basil leaves

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Pour a tablespoon of olive oil into a hot frying pan over medium-high heat, add garlic and chopped onion and fry briefly.
- Now add the wine (or chicken broth) and cook, stirring, until the liquid has reduced by half.
- Add the crushed tomatoes and stir. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and a pinch of sugar. Reduce the heat to low and simmer the marinara sauce for 30 minutes.
Towards the end of cooking, chop fresh parsley and basil and add it to the sauce to taste, stir.
