Hot buttered rum

Complexity: easily
Servings: 4
Hot Buttered Rum is a spiced alcoholic drink very popular in the West, especially in the United States, and is most associated with the winter holidays. The cocktail is made with butter, honey, brown sugar, and spices, which are then topped with spiced rum and boiling water and served in regular mugs. Hot Buttered Rum literally warms you up with its flavor and can even help fight the first signs of a cold. In the United States, it's also common to prepare the butter base for this drink in advance, store it in the freezer, and then, when needed, take a small amount and add boiling water and rum. This is a great way to treat friends you're visiting with this delicious drink. Prepare the butter base, place it in a beautiful jar, and give it as a gift along with a bottle of rum, garnishing it with cinnamon sticks.
