Ellie Krieger's delicious hot chocolate is made with just a few common ingredients found in almost any kitchen. Rich cocoa powder and aromatic cinnamon make it delicious without the extra calories. Garnish with grated dark chocolate, if desired.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup skim milk
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 tsp cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons of sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of water
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • Dark chocolate, for decoration
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Heat the milk in a small saucepan and add the cinnamon stick. In a mug, combine the cocoa powder, sugar, and water and stir to form a paste. Remove the cinnamon stick from the milk.
  • Step 2
  • Pour milk into a mug and stir well. Add vanilla extract and stir. Grate some dark chocolate on top for decoration.
