Ingredients:


For the almond cream:
  • 3/4 cup very cold heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup marshmallows
  • 2 tablespoons Amaretto almond liqueur or 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

For hot chocolate:
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 400 ml coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder, plus more for sprinkling
  • 3 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped dark chocolate
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • A pinch of fine salt
  • 1/2 cup coconut flakes, lightly toasted
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

    Step 1
  • Prepare almond cream: Combine the cream, marshmallows, almond liqueur, and vanilla extract in a bowl. Beat the cream with a mixer at high speed until fluffy.
  • Step 2
  • To make hot chocolate: Bring the coconut and cow's milk to a simmer in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in the cocoa powder, brown sugar, chocolate, vanilla extract, and salt. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sugar and chocolate are melted and the mixture is smooth and thick, about 5 minutes.
  • Step 3
  • Pour the hot chocolate into mugs and top with almond cream. Sprinkle with cocoa powder and coconut flakes.
