Festive hot chocolate

How to Make - Holiday Hot Chocolate
Time: 10 min.
Complexity: easily
Servings: 4

It's unlikely that any child or adult would refuse a warming, thick, and rich cup of hot chocolate. This dessert drink lifts the spirits with its aroma alone. Make it by melting a mixture of semisweet and dark chocolate in milk, adding a little brown sugar, and pouring into mugs. To give the drink a festive touch, top each mug with a few toppings of your choice, such as marshmallows, candy canes, whipped cream, chocolate chips, or a combination of several.

Recipe:

In a medium saucepan, heat 3 cups milk, 2 tablespoons light brown sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt, stirring constantly, until the milk comes to a boil and the sugar dissolves. Gradually add 4 ounces (110 g) of chopped semisweet and dark chocolate, stirring until completely melted. Cook, stirring occasionally, until smooth. This is a very thick, European-style hot chocolate. Serve with mini marshmallows, peppermint canes, whipped cream, chocolate chips, coconut flakes, or other toppings.
