If you're expecting a crowd of friends or spending the evening watching a game, a thick cheese dip is the perfect treat. chili con quesoThis Tex-Mex dip is made with a generous amount of processed cheese, which is melted together with browned ground beef, chili peppers, and tomatoes until it forms a smooth, scoopable paste. For the ground beef, use uncooked sausage, and canned tomatoes and chili peppers work well. Serve the hot chili con queso in the center of the table, with chips or crackers around it for dipping.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 450 g chilled spicy breakfast sausages (pork)
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 900 g processed cheese, such as Velveeta
  • 1 can (280 g) chopped tomatoes with green chilies
  • 2 cans chopped chili peppers
  • 1 jalapeño, diced
  • Chips, for serving

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Brown the sausage and onion in a large nonstick skillet, breaking up the meat with a spoon. Once browned, drain off some of the fat.
  2. Cut the processed cheese into cubes and add it to the pan along with the chopped tomatoes and green chili with all the juices.

  3. Simmer over low heat, stirring until smooth. Then add the diced jalapeño. Serve with chips.
