These cute chick-shaped cupcakes only look complicated. They're actually easy to make: the feet, wings, and beaks are made from gummy candies! For decoration, look for coarse yellow sugar. Coarse yellow sugar gives these chicks a sparkly shine. However, you can simply tint the frosting yellow. This will make the chicks look fluffy and shiny.

We recommend
Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Eyes:
Spread white sprinkles over the work surface. Attach a small chocolate chip to each circle, brushing it with a little frosting. Set aside. - Wings and tails:
Cut each wedge in half horizontally to create two thinner wedges. Take four of these wedges and cut each one into three triangles to form the tails. Set aside. - Paws:
Cut each orange slice in half horizontally to create two thinner slices, then cut each slice in half crosswise. Use scissors to cut two triangles on each paw to create the toes. - Beaks:
Place the gummy candies upright on a work surface. Use scissors to cut each one exactly three-quarters of the way through to create an open beak. Trim the candy on both ends to make it smaller and create a pointed beak. - Assembly:
Cover each cupcake with about 2 tablespoons of buttercream. Place yellow sugar in a small bowl. Turn each cupcake over and gently roll it in the sugar until it adheres. Attach the eyes by pressing them lightly. Insert the beak just below eye level. Press the wings and feet to the sides of the cupcake, and the tail to the back. Decorate the remaining cupcakes in the same manner.
