Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Line a 24-cup mini muffin pan with paper liners. Mix the chocolate cake batter as directed on the package; divide the batter among the cupcake liners, filling them halfway. Bake at 350°F (175°C) until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean, 11–14 minutes. Transfer the cupcakes to a wire rack and let cool.
- Frost the cupcakes with vanilla frosting tinted with green food coloring. Mix coconut flakes with 2 teaspoons of warm water and a few drops of green food coloring; sprinkle the green coconut over the cupcakes.
- Place a chocolate-covered almond on each cupcake and use vanilla icing to draw a lace pattern like a ball.
