You can make a unique, quick snack out of store-bought Chinese wonton dough. Wrap jam inside them like envelopes and deep-fry them in plenty of oil in a deep fryer (or in a saucepan) until golden and crispy. Feel free to experiment with fillings and try savory options. These wontons will fly off the table even without filling! Dust them with powdered sugar and serve.

Brush the edges of the square wonton sheets with beaten egg whites; fold the corners toward the center to form a pocket (fill with jam, if desired). Deep-fry in vegetable oil until golden brown, about 2 minutes, then dust with powdered sugar.
