Guotie are fried Chinese dumplings filled with meat, perfect for serving as an appetizer with a dipping sauce at a house party. This recipe uses ready-made wonton dough, which is sold pre-cut into squares or rounds, and the filling includes ground pork, egg, chopped vegetables, and plenty of spices. These spices give the appetizer its perfect flavor. Guotie are shaped so that at least one side is flat and crisps up nicely during frying. Unlike traditional cooking, where the dumplings are boiled and then fried, this recipe involves frying them first and then simmering them in the same pan with a small amount of broth. It's quick and easy.
