This cocktail, invented in the bar of the fashionable Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City, is believed to have been the first drink named after a movie star. It was invented before Prohibition in the United States in 1920, when Charlie Chaplin had already become a celebrated silent film star. The English sloe gin used in the cocktail is likely a tribute to the famous actor, who was also British. Mix it with equal parts apricot liqueur and lime juice in a shaker with ice. You'll have a wonderful time watching a movie with a glass in hand.
