A blend of anise, tart dry vermouth, fragrant herbal Benedictine, and fresh orange creates a well-balanced cocktail that has stood the test of time. Although the origin of the name is lost, the recipe for this ancient drink is tried and true.

- Pour vermouth, Benedictine and absinthe into a shaker with ice and shake vigorously.
- Strain into a chilled martini glass. Squeeze orange zest into the drink, then rim the glass with the zest and garnish. Drink immediately.
