Perhaps the coziest and most homely pie is deservedly considered an apple pie. It's what mom and grandma bake during the autumn harvest season. But the beauty of apples is that they keep well and are readily available almost year-round. To make this pie, all you need to do is roll out the dough and slice the apples; the rest of the magic happens in the oven! This dessert goes perfectly with a cup of coffee and milk, and if desired, you can add a creamy flavor and hint of vanilla by garnishing it with a scoop of ice cream.
The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:
- 200 g frozen puff pastry, defrosted in the refrigerator
- 2 sour apples
- 65 gr. brown sugar
- 40 ml of 10% cream

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Preheat oven to 200°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- On a floured surface, roll the dough into a 24-cm square, about 0.5 cm thick, trimming the edges if necessary to make them more even. Place the dough on the prepared baking sheet, prick with a fork, and chill while you prepare the apples.
- Peel the apples and use a peeler to remove the cores, leaving the apples whole. Use a grater or hand to thinly slice the apples into rounds.
- Arrange the apple slices in three layers on top of the dough, sprinkle with brown sugar, and carefully drizzle with cream. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the dough and apples are golden brown.
- Serve the pie warm or at room temperature, and top it with a scoop of ice cream.
