Salad with apples and ham - a detailed recipe.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 3 green apples
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 3 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 5 small shallots, cut into small wedges
  • 200 g thinly sliced Black Forest ham
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 bunches watercress
  • 4 endives, cut into large strips
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Prepare shallots: Saute shallots in olive oil with 1/2 teaspoon salt over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until golden brown, about 8 minutes. Remove from heat.
  2. Meanwhile, prepare the dressing: In a separate bowl, combine apple cider vinegar and Dijon mustard, add sour cream and 1/4 cup boiled water, and stir until smooth. Add the cooled shallots.

  3. Thinly slice the apples, place in a salad bowl, and toss with lemon juice. Add the ham, watercress, and endive, and stir in the onion vinaigrette. Season with salt to taste and freshly ground pepper, and toss to combine.
