- 5 small shallots, cut into small wedges
- 200 g thinly sliced Black Forest ham
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 2 bunches watercress
- 4 endives, cut into large strips
- Salt and freshly ground pepper

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Prepare shallots: Saute shallots in olive oil with 1/2 teaspoon salt over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until golden brown, about 8 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Meanwhile, prepare the dressing: In a separate bowl, combine apple cider vinegar and Dijon mustard, add sour cream and 1/4 cup boiled water, and stir until smooth. Add the cooled shallots.
