The popular Chihuahua cocktail, named after the Mexican state, is a mix of silver tequila, orange liqueur, and citrus juice. Paired with a quality sparkling wine (such as Prosecco), the drink takes on a truly royal flavor. The cocktail is refreshing, perfectly balanced between tart and sweet, and easy to drink. Garnish each glass with a twist of orange peel and enjoy.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 0.5 cups of sugar
  • 45 ml silver tequila
  • 20 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon orange confiture
  • 60 ml of Prosecco or other sparkling wine
  • Orange peel twist, for serving

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Combine sugar and 1/4 cup water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat and stir until the sugar dissolves, 3-5 minutes. Let cool completely. The syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks..
  2. Combine tequila, lemon juice, 15 ml of simple syrup, and orange marmalade in a shaker filled with ice. Shake until thoroughly chilled, 30 seconds to 1 minute.

  3. Strain into a tall glass filled with ice. Top with Prosecco and garnish with an orange peel.
