This dip can be made ahead of time for a party and served with vegetables or crackers for dipping. The sweetness of the baked red onions pairs beautifully with the savory cream cheese and sour cream sauce. Green onions add extra flavor and enhance the roasted onion flavor.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- On a foil-lined baking sheet, toss 1 coarsely chopped red onion with 2 tablespoons olive oil, season with salt and pepper. Bake in the oven at 200°C (400°F), stirring occasionally, until golden brown, 20-35 minutes. Set the onions aside to cool. Beat 220g (7 oz) of softened cream cheese with a mixer on medium-high speed until creamy, 1-2 minutes.
- Add 1/2 cup sour cream, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoons each mayonnaise and chopped chives, and the roasted red onion. Stir to distribute the ingredients evenly. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl.
