These elegant, fluffy puff pastries with a creamy center can be baked anytime. The recipe is super simple, and they're ready in just half an hour. All you need to do is whip up cream cheese with sugar, egg yolk, lemon juice, and vanilla for the filling, and use store-bought, defrosted dough. Assemble the buns according to the recipe instructions, bake for 18 minutes, and enjoy. The puff pastries are airy, crispy, and filled with a creamy center, just like straight from the bakery! And you don't need any special baking skills to make them.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1 package (500g) frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 large egg + 1 yolk
  • 220 g cream cheese, softened
  • 3 tbsp sugar + extra for sprinkling
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat oven to 200°C. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, beat the egg with 1 teaspoon water; set aside.

  3. In a medium bowl, beat the egg yolk, cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract with a mixer on medium speed until smooth.
  4. Place 2 sheets of puff pastry on a work surface and cut each into 4 squares. Fold the corners of the squares inward about 2 cm to form an octagon. Spoon the cheese mixture evenly into the center of each octagon (about 2 tablespoons); do not spread it. Brush the exposed areas of the dough with the egg mixture and sprinkle generously with sugar.
  5. Bake until the buns are puffy and golden brown, about 18 minutes. Cool slightly before serving.
