Having ready-made puff pastry in the freezer is a great way to make quick and delicious puff pastries at any time. The sheet defrosts fairly quickly, and the puff pastry will take you no more than half an hour. Roll out the dough, spread it with mustard, and top it with a mixture of grated Parmesan, thyme, and black pepper. Cut into squares, shape into your desired shape, and bake in the oven. Small squares will bake quickly, resulting in airy and crispy puff pastries. This recipe can be used as a base or with other cheeses and aromatic herbs.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface using a floured rolling pin. Brush off any excess flour. In a small bowl, mix the mustard with a little water to make it thinner. Spread the mustard over the entire surface of the dough.

  3. In a small bowl, combine the cheese, thyme, and a pinch of black pepper. Sprinkle the cheese mixture over the entire sheet of dough. Gently roll the dough with a rolling pin to press the filling into it. Cut the dough into 5 cm squares and pinch two opposite corners of each square in the center, or leave them flat. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake until the puff pastries are puffed and golden brown, 10-14 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.
