Creamy pumpkin and cider dipping sauce - a detailed recipe.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 120 g of cream cheese, fluffed
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 2 tbsp (30 g) butter
  • 2 tablespoons of wheat flour
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 bottle of hard cider (500 ml)
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 3 tbsp. grated cheddar (about 340 g)
  • Chopped chives for garnish

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Cook the bacon in a medium skillet over medium heat.Cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and crispy, about 7 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  2. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the flour and garlic; cook, stirring, until combined, about 2 minutes. Add the cider, pumpkin puree, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 teaspoon salt, pumpkin pie spices and cayenne pepper. Stir, bring to a boil, and cook until thickened, stirring occasionally, about 3 minutes.

  3. Gradually whisk in the cream cheese and cheddar until melted and smooth, about 2 minutes. Transfer the dip to a bowl and top with bacon and onions.
