The famous Brazilian homemade candy called "brigadeiro" has long won the hearts of sweet-toothed people in their country of origin. They're truly irresistible, as they're made with condensed milk and chocolate, creating a melted, lava-like mass. Traditionally, they're topped with crunchy chocolate sprinkles, but you can get creative with this. Cocoa powder, coconut flakes, and finely chopped nuts are just a few of the options.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.

1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

  • 1 can (400 g) of condensed milk

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Add the condensed milk, chopped chocolate, and butter to the saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring, for about 10 minutes, or until the mixture begins to pull away from the bottom. When tilting the saucepan, it will form a solid, soft mass. Pour the mixture onto a greased plate and let cool at room temperature.
  2. Grease your hands with butter and roll the mixture into candies. Roll them in chocolate sprinkles. The creamy consistency of the brigadeiros is best enjoyed if they are served at room temperature.
