Quantity: 20 truffles

Incredibly delicious Brazilian truffles, also known as "Brigadeiro" candies, are one of the classic truffle varieties, inspired by the Brazilian politician and air force brigadier Eduardo Gomes. Like any popular dish, there are many variations, but the basic ingredients of these candies are condensed milk, cocoa, butter, and chocolate sprinkles.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 400 gr. condensed milk with sugar
  • 2 tbsp (30 g) butter, plus more for greasing your hands
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp fine salt
  • Chocolate granules for rolling
  • Multicolored confectionery sprinkles for rolling

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the condensed milk, butter, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt. Place over medium heat and bring to a boil, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon. Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue stirring for about 8 minutes, until the mixture thickens, being careful not to let it stick to the bottom. Remove from heat and transfer the mixture to a bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until completely chilled, about 2 hours.
  2. Lightly grease your hands with butter. Using a tablespoon or small scoop, scoop out a small amount of the truffle mixture and roll it into a small ball with your hands, just big enough to put in your mouth. Roll the truffle in one of the crumbles and place it on a plate. Repeat with the remaining chocolate mixture. Store the truffles in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
