A detailed recipe for this Cuban dish with photos.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 2 cups cachaça liqueur (Brazilian vodka)
  • 1 liter of water
  • 1 liter of sugar
  • 6 limes (each cut into 8 wedges)
  • 3 cups crushed ice

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Combine water and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Simmer until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. Carefully wash the limes with water and pat dry. Pour the cooled sugar syrup into a large pitcher, add 5 lime wedges, and gently mash to prevent the lime peel from releasing too many of its aromatic oils.

    Add ice and liqueur and stir. Serve in a tall glass, garnished with a lime wedge.
