Mississippi roast is a popular dish in the American South that's easy to prepare. Unlike other roasts, it's baked in a slow cooker rather than in the oven with just a few ingredients: butter, gravy mix, ranch dressing, and pickled pepperoncini. Everything is simply mixed together in the slow cooker, a large piece of meat is added—any cut, even the toughest—and the roast can be forgotten for several hours. The finished meat is very tender and flavorful, easily shredded with a fork. This roast can be served with a variety of sides for a Sunday family dinner or used to make delicious, filling sandwiches.
