Even kids can make these simple candies with a crunchy filling. They look so homey and adorable and are absolutely delicious. The base is made from cereal squares and chopped salted peanuts. Toss them with melted chocolate, peanut butter, and shortening until completely coated, and then mound them onto a baking sheet to set. Top them with nonpareils for a festive touch.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1 1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 and 1/4 tbsp. peanut butter granules
  • 4 tsp. confectionery fat
  • 4 cups crispy breakfast cereal squares
  • 0.5 cups salted roasted peanuts, coarsely chopped
  • White nonpareil, for decoration

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter granules, and shortening in a large heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water (the bottom of the bowl should not touch the water). Stir until melted and smooth, 2-4 minutes. Remove the bowl from the saucepan and stir in the cereal and peanuts. Stir with a rubber spatula to distribute the mixture evenly.
  2. Spoon the mixture into 2 tablespoon heaps onto the prepared baking sheet and sprinkle with white nonpareils. Refrigerate until the glaze sets, about 30 minutes.
