Snacks that taste better frozen

Food Network chefs put all sorts of foods in the freezer to create some amazing new frozen treats.

How to freeze these snacks:
Arrange the ingredients in a single layer on a baking sheet. Freeze until firm, at least 2 hours. Transfer to a zip-lock bag, press out any air, and seal. Freeze for up to 1 month, unless otherwise noted. Remove from the freezer a few minutes before serving.

Avocado slices
Freeze for up to 4 hours; sprinkle with chili powder and salt.

Sliced brownies

Orange or grapefruit slices
Keep in the freezer for up to 4 hours.

Slices of chocolate cake

Iceberg lettuce wedges
Freeze for up to 4 hours; dip in blue cheese dressing or ranch.

Slices of cheesecake

Yogurt
Freeze in popsicle molds.

Melon cubes
Keep in the freezer for up to 4 hours.

Mango slices
Keep in the freezer for up to 4 hours.

Chocolate mint candies
Remove wrappers before freezing.

Mini donuts

Peanut butter candies
Remove wrappers before freezing.

Watermelon slices

Applesauce
Freeze in an ice cube tray.

Grape
Freeze individually or in bunches.

Canned fruits
Use peaches, pears or pineapple.

Root beer
Freeze in popsicle molds.

Don't freeze it
We thought these foods would be delicious frozen, but we were wrong: marshmallows, apple slices, peanut butter and jam sandwiches, chocolate chip cookies, and dried fruit.
