Napa cabbage (petsai)

This is a vegetable crop. Chinese Originating from a variety called petsai, Napa cabbage has succulent leaves that form a small head. The leaves are green or yellow-green, white near the base, with wavy edges.

Chinese cabbage is most often used in salads, while the coarser parts of the leaves are used to make soups, eaten pickled and dried, as a side dish, fried or boiled, and fermented to make the Korean dish kimchi.
