The Hurricane cocktail, originally from New Orleans, was named after the type of glass used, the Hurricane. hurricane (Hurricane), in which it is traditionally served, is shaped like a kerosene lamp that never goes out during hurricanes. In the 1940s, a New Orleans bar owner, in an effort to quickly sell the unpopular rum, created a new cocktail, mixing it with citrus juice and passion fruit syrup. The new creation created such a sensation among local sailors that it remains the city's most popular cocktail.
Replace the syrup in the cocktail with passion fruit puree, mix with grapefruit juice, ice, rum and a little sugar and enjoy a fruity, refreshing and invigorating Hurricane.
