A large wheel of Brie cheese makes an incredibly simple yet elegant appetizer. The outer rind is trimmed off the wheel, and the cheese is microwaved until melted and gooey inside. The dense rind of the noble mold forms a bowl-like structure that creates a delicious, warm dipping sauce. Serve it on a platter, arranging the appetizers around it for dipping. Fuji apples, pears, and crisp Melba toast pair perfectly with the cheese.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Cut the apple and pear lengthwise into quarters and remove the cores. Slice the fruit into 0.5 cm thick slices. Sprinkle the pears and apples with a little lemon juice to prevent them from browning.
- Cut the top rind off the brie and microwave it on high power for 60 seconds. Depending on the maturity of the cheese, it will melt on high power in 60-90 seconds. If the cheese isn't hot and melted after 1 minute, return it to the microwave for another 30 seconds.
- Serve the softened, warm Brie on a platter with fruit and Melba toast for dipping and spreading. If the cheese is too long, microwave it on high power for 20-30 seconds.
