To make these cookies, wheat flour is mixed with rolled oats, and refined sugar is mixed with brown sugar in equal parts to give the cookies a light caramel flavor. Grated apple is also added to the dough for a delicious fruity flavor and softness. The cookies are fluffy and moist inside—you'll be hooked. Top each cookie with icing for a festive look. A perfect autumn treat to pair with tea.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 2 and 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp of soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice
  • 165g unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 Fuji or Gala apple, coarsely grated
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp. milk

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Position oven racks in the upper and lower thirds of the oven; preheat to 350°F (175°C). Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, oats, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and allspice. In a separate bowl, combine the butter, brown and white sugars, and eggs; beat until smooth. Add the grated apple and vanilla extract, then fold in the flour mixture and knead the dough.
  2. Drop 1 heaping tablespoon of the batter onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2.5 cm (1 inch) apart. Bake until the cookies are set around the edges, 10-12 minutes, rotating the baking sheets halfway through. Let cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack and cool completely.

  3. Prepare the glaze:


    Mix powdered sugar and milk in a bowl; pour icing over cookies.
