Time: 30 min.
Complexity: easily
Quantity: 24 cookies

These homemade oatmeal cookies are baked without added refined sugar, using only dark brown sugar with a high molasses content. This gives the cookies a soft, chewy interior and a thin, crispy exterior. If you prefer a drier, crispier cookie, simply bake them a little longer than recommended. These cookies also contain rolled oats, so there's no need to grind them before adding them. You can also stir in chopped nuts like walnuts, hazelnuts, or pecans if desired—the flavor will be amazing!

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C.
  2. In the bowl of an electric mixer (or using a hand mixer), beat the brown sugar and butter until fluffy. Stir in the vanilla extract. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition.

  3. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking soda. Add to the butter mixture in 2-3 additions, mixing after each addition. Stir in the oats, distributing them evenly.
  4. Spoon the dough into mounds on a baking sheet, spacing them a few centimeters apart. Bake until golden brown, 12-13 minutes for soft cookies. If you prefer crispier cookies, bake a little longer!
  5. Let the cookies cool slightly on the baking sheets, then transfer to a plate and serve.

    Note

Add 0.5 cups of finely chopped nuts to the dough if you like a nutty flavor and crunch.
