Anne Burrell's classic oatmeal cookies take on a whole new meaning with chocolate chips. If you like dark chocolate (semi-sweet works well too), add it along with walnuts for a richer, crunchier oatmeal cookie. While the ideal baking time is 12 minutes, you can increase or decrease it slightly to achieve a softer or crispier version. Add a little extra flair by sprinkling each cookie with sea salt.

Recipes with similar ingredients: flour, rolled oats, cinnamon, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, dark chocolate, walnuts, sea salt flakes
Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Preheat oven to 180C.
- In a small bowl, combine flour, oats, baking powder, cinnamon and salt.
- In a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and butter. Using a stand mixer or a stand mixer fitted with a pastry attachment, beat the butter and sugar until the mixture is pale and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time and beat until combined. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Using a silicone spatula or a mixer on low speed, gradually fold the flour mixture into the butter and sugar mixture. Mix until smooth. Add the chocolate chips and walnuts.
- Place 2 tablespoons of dough on an ungreased baking sheet, leaving 5 cm between each ball. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 12-13 minutes.
- When you take the cookies out of the oven, IMMEDIATELY sprinkle them with a few grains of sea salt. It's crucial to do this while the cookies are still hot.
- Cool the cookies for 2-3 minutes and transfer them to a wire rack to cool further.
