This light, sparkling cocktail is a wonderful alternative to traditional champagne for a celebration, bachelorette party, or Sunday brunch. Mix champagne with real lemonade and serve in flutes with a lemon wedge. Make the lemonade ahead of time by simply mixing freshly squeezed lemon juice with water and simple syrup, the recipe for which is also provided below. Just before serving, pour into glasses and top with champagne.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 3 tbsp of water
  • 1.5 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 bottle of champagne or sparkling wine
  • Thin lemon wedges, for garnish

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Combine sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook for 1 minute, until the sugar dissolves, then turn off the heat and let the syrup cool.
  2. In a pitcher, combine the cooled sugar syrup with lemon juice and the remaining 2 cups of water and stir well. Fill a champagne flute halfway with lemonade and top up with champagne. Garnish with a lemon wedge.
