This recipe will help you pull a creative prank on your friends this April Fool's Day. The base of these fake sushi isn't sticky rice, but a sweet mixture of puffed rice and marshmallows. Instead of raw fish and seaweed, use various gummy candies and pieces of marshmallow. Replace the soy sauce with chocolate sauce, replace the wasabi with a sweet paste made from crushed pistachios and cream cheese, and replace the pickled ginger with colored coconut flakes. These sweet sushi are similar to the real deal and are perfect for an April Fool's prank.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Prepare a batch of puffed rice cakes; shape them into small oval mounds while still warm. Spread a little pistachio paste on top, then cover with whole or crushed red and orange gummy candies (such as Chuckles or Sunkist Fruit Slices). If desired, wrap the "sushi" with a strip of green marshmallow.
  2. To make rolls, flatten the warm puffed rice bar into a thin rectangle on a piece of pastila and arrange the gummy candies in the center. Roll into a cylinder and cut into rolls.

  3. Serve sushi with fake wasabi, ginger, and chocolate syrup instead of soy sauce. Cut a ribbon of sour candy to look like greens for garnish.
